Skyplanr Bridge for DJI RC Pro

A small Android app for the DJI RC Pro. Pick a mission you planned in Skyplanr and it goes straight into DJI Fly on the controller. No computer, no USB cable, no renaming files.

We're building it now. There's no release date: it ships once it has worked on real RC Pro controllers, and beta pilots get it first.

What it will do

  1. Sign in with a code

The app shows a short code. You approve it on your phone or computer, so you never type a password on the controller.

  2. Pick a mission

Your ready missions are listed. Save one on the controller before you leave, for sites with no signal.

  3. Pick the placeholder

Make a two-point waypoint mission in DJI Fly once. The app finds it and puts your mission in its place, one flight per placeholder.

  4. Check and fly

The app keeps a copy of the original, checks the file after writing it and opens DJI Fly. You check the route there before you take off.

It only writes the mission file DJI Fly reads. It doesn't change DJI Fly, the controller or the drone, and it doesn't fly anything.

Which controllers

Only some screen controllers let you install apps, so the bridge starts with the RC Pro.

ControllerStatus
DJI RC ProFirstDJI allows apps on it, and its Android version should let an app write to DJI Fly's mission folder. That's the first thing we test.
DJI RC Pro 2To be testedApps are allowed here too. Whether the same method works, we'll know once we've tested one.
DJI RC and DJI RC 2No app possibleThese don't let you install apps. Copy the file over USB, or use MavenBridge on a computer.
RC-N1, RC-N2 or RC-N3 with an iPhoneWorks todayThe Skyplanr iPhone app already puts the mission into DJI Fly for you.
RC-N1, RC-N2 or RC-N3 with an Android phoneComputer for nowNewer Android versions block access to DJI Fly's folder, so a computer is the reliable route.
DJI RC Plus and RC Plus 2Works todayDJI Pilot 2 imports a KMZ itself: download the DJI Pilot 2 file, then Flight Route › Import.

What works today

You don't have to wait for the app. These routes take the same file it will install.

  • Send to controller

On the mission page. Open the short link in the controller's browser and the mission downloads there, ready to move into DJI Fly's mission folder, or to import in DJI Pilot 2.

  • USB copy or MavenBridge

Download the KMZ named for your placeholder mission and copy it over USB. MavenBridge (free, Windows and macOS) does the copy for you and takes our file as it is.

  • iPhone app

With an RC-N controller and an iPhone, the Skyplanr app replaces the placeholder and checks the result.

Step by step: install a KMZ in DJI Fly

Join the beta

We're looking for RC Pro pilots to try the first version and tell us what breaks. Pick your controller and we'll email you when there's a version to test. Nothing else.

Sign in to join, so we know where to send the test version.

Good to know

Is this allowed?
DJI allows third-party apps on the RC Pro, at your own risk. The bridge doesn't modify DJI Fly; it writes the same KMZ you would copy over USB, as MavenBridge and Litchi Hub Bridge do.
What if DJI Fly changes?
A DJI Fly update could move or lock the mission folder, and every tool like this would stop working at once. The link and USB routes stay, so you're never stuck.
Is it safe to fly?
It only installs a mission that passed our checks, and verifies the file after writing it. You're still the pilot: check the route in DJI Fly before you take off.
